Strong credentials - NPWT for improved outcomes in veterinary surgery

Negative pressure wound therapy has been used for over 3 decades to assist healing and improve outcomes in human healthcare. Its use in animal health has been more variable primarily due to the availability of systems and a lack of veterinary specific guidelines. 

NPWT tends to be thought of as a referral option, something that is challenging to use on challenging wounds, but that really isn't the case. Admittedly it's a bit of a change to the 'standard' approach but the benefits are definitely worth exploring. 

This paper from more than 20 years ago illustrates the value of NPWT in distal limb wounds. It's open source and worth a look. The devices, including ours, have become much more refined since then and our one to one clinical support means you're not left to work it out for yourself if you have a case that may be a good candidate.
